Live life

Are you just existing or are you actually living life? Are you falling into a routine that you wish you could get out of or are you making the best of everyday that you’re awake? We all need to find things to do while we’re alive. Work or school should not be the only reasons we go outside or if you work from home, you should be finding any reason to step outside for some fresh air. Go for a walk or run an errand just to get outside or out of your normal days routine. Develop a hobby, go for a hike, take up dancing, go to a movie, a concert, a play or anything you consider fun. Stop just sitting around watching TV or on your phone all of the time. Let’s all find a reason to just live and enjoy life to the fullest.

Always find a reason to Smile Through It All!!!!

Y’ALL SMILING??

What made you smile today? Waking up today should have been your first smile. There’s so many that didn’t have that pleasure today. Being able to pay your bills today, should be a good reason to smile. Being able to see the people you love today, should have put a smile on your face. There’s soooo many reason to smile and all you have to do is pick one or many. Just keep smiling and good thing will keep happening. Have a more positive outlook vs a negative one.

Always find a reason to Smile Through It All!!!

SOON

I will be back to blogging soon. Been a long time since I’ve blogged and I need to get back to attending to my website. I’ve let life distract me and I’m sure y’all have too. Let’s get back to smiling.

HAPPY 2023!!!!

It’s a new year and a new opportunity to do new things in life or to start something new in your life that you’ve been wanting to do but been afraid or too lazy to do. That includes me as well. I’ve been lazy on the things I put on my vision board, or I’ve let being shy be my excuse for not doing a lot in my life. I said I need to do more blogging and I didn’t do that, so this year I am going to blog a lot more. Give more energy here than always just saying I’m going to do it, stop just saying it and start doing it. I pray everyone’s 2023 has gotten off to a good start. If it hasn’t, I pray it gets better from this day forward. If you’ve loss loved ones already this year, I wrap my arms around you and pray that the memories you have of them help you move forward and live a life that would make them and you proud. I pray that whatever you want in life that you go for it this year. Have a great day and look forward to living your best life because you only get one.

Remember to always find a reason to Smile through it all.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Day 31 of Domestic Violence Awareness month, I kept saying all month long 30 days, mainly because today I wanted to give a lil glimpse of a survivor’s life aka mine. I had stated earlier that I am a survivor of domestic violence, I sometimes don’t talk about it because as victims you try to not hurt people no matter how much they might have hurt you. I am not in the hurting business, just the loving business, but as the years have gone on and the more, I see, I thought, it’s time I told my story and when I chose to write my story, it was hard, but needed cus it has been therapeutic for me too. Even though I got out of my marriage 3.5 yrs. after it started (1998), it took me a couple more yrs. to completely let go of my feelings for my ex to where I could speak without being afraid of what might happen.

We victims have to learn to not go back to the person that hurt us cus something was wrong with them even though they tried to make it seem like something was wrong with us. I love everyone, I try to help everyone I can, but for some reason God believed I was strong enough to go through this abuse in all ways of the word. I thank God till this day for helping me survive this and to be here today to tell my story or at least a lil of it here and one day you can read it and share it to help others. I’m glad I got out so I could show my young men that violence is not love, it’s hurt and harmful. They are 2 loving guys, and I am glad I am here to see them grow, cus twice I wanted to end my life cus I didn’t think I deserved to be happy. So, since I am still here on this earth, I am going to live my life and enjoy it to the fullest cus I AM A SURVIVOR AND I LOVE ME AND YOU TOO. If you read this to the end, I thank you and you be blessed. hug someone today, even if it’s yourself. Please everyone if you or someone you know is being abused, get help to get away from your abuser, I had to make it up in my mind that that life wasn’t for me. I am one of the blessed ones, you can be too.

Oscars

Sunday’s Oscars has gotten to us bald women for a reason. It’s not always easy to walk around bald. Some of us has gone years to get to a comfortable spot to leave our homes to only get stared at or called out our names or called sir, bruh, man, some think we should cover up to avoid being talked about. After we just spent years getting to this point, you want us to go back in hiding because the world isn’t ready for us? On July 13, 2022, it would be 10 years since I got brave enough to expose my head after hiding my Alopecia for 12 years and accept the fact that I’ll never have a full head of hair again, but I now have a life of dealing with insensitive people. Most days I’m good, but some days I wish people had a clue what they just did. I’m not saying violence is the way to go, but sometimes you have to control from going to that level. If I didn’t have that control, I might not have my job right now. I think we all need to be kinder to everyone jokingly or not. Everyone has a situation that they’re not ready to be made fun of yet and us bald women is not going to keep hiding behind wigs, hats and scarfs because the world isn’t ready to see us. It’s part of why I wrote my storyย Smile Through It Allย to show what I’ve went through to get to this comfortable spot. And since I’m also a survivor of domestic violence is why I don’t condone violence of any kind to solve an issue. I pray we all learn to get along and use our words wisely and get a more understanding of why people react the way they do. I know a comics life is to talk about people, places and things, but know your audience a lil bit please. Some have taken their lives over being bald and not being able to cope with the aftermath of folks teasing them. Y’all have a great day and rest of your week. If you want to read my story here’s where you can go to order a book.ย smilethroughitall.orgย

Alopecia Awareness month

Androgenetic Alopecia: The majority of women with androgenetic – also called androgenic – alopecia have diffuse thinning on all areas of the scalp. (Men rarely have diffuse thinning but instead have more distinct patterns of baldness.) Some women have a combination of two pattern types.

Androgenic alopecia in women is due to the action of androgens, male hormones that are typically present in only small amounts. Androgenic alopecia can be caused by a variety of factors tied to the actions of hormones, including some ovarian cysts, taking high androgen index birth control pills, pregnancy, and menopause.
